Another sequel down. I watched the first Quiet Place around this time 4 years ago. I thought it was pretty good. At the end of that movie, the daughter figures out how to immobilize the aliens so they could kill them. That's where this movie starts.
This is going to be a pretty short review because I don't have many strong opinions about this movie. It met my expectations almost exactly. This was John Krasinski's 4th film as a director, and it was pretty impressive how he was able to tell a cohesive and easy-to-understand story with close to no dialogue for half of them. I came into this movie expecting a story that carried on the story of the last movie in the same way. I guess that's a pretty broad expectation for a movie sequel, but I can't think of a better descriptor. They ended the movie leaving it open for a third one, but it has the same problem as the last ending did where it just sets up a killing spree. I would recomend watching this movie if you liked the first one. You could probably watch it as a standalone film, but I don't think its as good as the first one and you'd lose some emotional value. I haven't seen many thrillers (or whatever this genre is), but I think this is probably up there in the genre. 7.5/10
